Biden Criticizes Trump’s Reopening of the Economy as a ‘One-Point Plan’

In unveiling his plan for reopening the economy, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. criticized President Trump’s approach, saying it failed to keep workers safe.

Trump has basically had a one-point plan: open businesses — just open. But it does nothing to keep workers safe and keep businesses able to stay open. And secondly, it has done very little to generate consumer confidence. I think we should establish, and I will establish, what we call a pandemic testing board, not unlike what Roosevelt did in a different circumstance, a national testing board during the Depression, to surge testing nationwide, and ramp up the production and fair distribution of the P.P.E.
