Twenty-two candidates are vying in a top-four, open primary to replace the late Representative Don Young, who held Alaska’s lone congressional seat for 49 years before his death in March. They include the three candidates who won the most votes in a June special election to finish his two-year term: Sarah Palin, the Trump-endorsed former governor of Alaska; Nick Begich III, who co-chaired Mr. Young’s 2020 re-election campaign; and Mary Peltola, a Democrat and former state lawmaker.
